Define the unit before calculating
Weight is only meaningful when the unit is clear. Enter grams directly, or enter the number of grams in the unit being quoted by your jeweller. Do not assume that every seller or region uses the same mithqal convention.
Separate purity from total weight
The model estimates pure-gold-equivalent weight as total grams multiplied by karat divided by 24. For example, 10 grams at 21 karat contains a modelled pure-gold equivalent of 8.75 grams. This is a calculation from the stated karat, not a physical assay or authenticity test.
Multiply the pure-gold equivalent by your verified 24K price per gram. Then add making charges separately. If the making charge is quoted per gram, multiply it by total jewellery weight. If it is a fixed amount, convert it carefully or account for it outside the calculator.
Retail buying and selling are different
A resale offer may not recover the original making charge. Stones, other components, dealer margins and testing can also affect a real quote. Our gold calculator does not label an assumed metal value as a dealer buy price or sell price.
Keep the source and time of your entered price with the result. If you use IQD, make sure the gram price is already in IQD; selecting a currency label does not perform a currency conversion.
